The NC Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center promotes safe and healthy environments for children in child care settings. We provide information, resources, and referrals to the child health and child care communities.
- Our hotline, 1-800-367-2229, is part of the North Carolina Family Health Resource Line. You can call one toll-free number and receive information, resources, and referrals for the greater child care community as well as information, support, referrals, and advocacy on family health issues. Services are available in English and Spanish.
- We publish The NC Child Care Health and Safety Bulletin. It is a bimonthly bulletin that includes in depth information about health and safety concerns in child care settings, as well as information for child care programs to share with parents.
- We provide support for Child Care Health Consultants and other professionals working with child care programs. Our services include consultation, technical assistance, and web-based training.
The Resource Center is a project of the Department of Maternal and Child Health, School of Public Health, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Funding for the Resource Center originates with the Maternal and Child Health Title V Block Grant of the Child Care Bureau, awarded to the University under a contract from the Division of Public Health, NC DHHS.
